This study looked at 140 adults having surgery who needed a breathing tube placed through the nose. Doctors tested whether softening the tube with heat and inflating its cuff with air made it easier to guide the tube into the windpipe and reduced nosebleeds. The goal was to find a safer, gentler way to perform this common procedure.
