New pill aims to tame dangerous immune reactions in cancer treatment

Summary
This study tests a drug called CTO1681 to prevent or reduce cytokine release syndrome (CRS), a common and serious side effect of CAR T-cell therapy. About 54 adults with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma who are scheduled for CAR T-cell treatment will take CTO1681 three times daily for 15 days starting just before their therapy. The goal is to see if the drug is safe and can lower the risk of CRS and related hospitalizations.
