Blood test could replace scans for HPV cancer patients

NCT ID NCT06640283

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study is testing a new, low-cost blood test that looks for tumor DNA (ctDNA) in people with HPV-related cervical or anal cancer after they finish radiation therapy. The goal is to see if this simple blood test can replace expensive imaging scans for monitoring and help doctors decide who might benefit from early immunotherapy. About 150 participants will be followed over time to see if the test accurately predicts recurrence or spread of the disease.
