Custom blood test could spot cancer return in head and neck patients
NCT ID NCT03896412
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a personalized blood test can find tiny bits of tumor DNA (ctDNA) in 40 people with advanced head and neck cancer. The test was tailored to each patient's unique tumor mutations. Researchers checked blood before surgery, after surgery, and for 18 months to see if ctDNA levels could predict cancer coming back. The goal is to better understand who needs more aggressive treatment.
