Could a CT scan replace the throat probe for heart device checks?
NCT ID NCT06523166
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study compares two imaging methods—CT scan and transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE)—to see which better detects problems like leaks or blood clots after a heart device (Watchman FLX) is implanted. About 320 adults will get both tests 90 days after their procedure. The goal is to find out if the less invasive CT scan can replace the standard TEE, which requires a probe down the throat.
