Global study aims to make advanced cervical cancer treatment more widely available

NCT ID NCT07249021

Summary

This study aims to see if using CT scans, which are more common and affordable than MRI machines, can effectively guide a precise form of internal radiation therapy (brachytherapy) for cervical cancer. It will involve about 1,200 patients with locally advanced cervical cancer who will receive standard chemotherapy and radiation. The goal is to validate a standardized CT-based approach so that more hospitals, especially in areas with fewer resources, can offer this potentially life-saving treatment.
