New CT scan could replace invasive test for brain death diagnosis

NCT ID NCT07341490

First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether a new CT-angiography method can accurately diagnose brain death compared to the standard four-vessel angiography. About 50 adults with severe brain injury will receive both tests. If the CT method works as well, it could offer a faster, less invasive way to confirm brain death.
