First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looks at how well CT scans and a scoring system (AIR) can help doctors decide if an appendix really needs to be removed. About 200 adults with suspected appendicitis will be followed to see how often the surgery was unnecessary. The goal is to improve diagnosis and avoid unneeded operations.
