New surgical splint tested to patch brain fluid leaks

NCT ID NCT07368348

Summary

This study compares two surgical methods for repairing cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks, which are holes where brain fluid escapes through the nose. Researchers want to see if a new technique using a small internal splint to support a tissue graft works as well as the current standard method, which uses a flap of nasal lining. The study will enroll 20 adults with confirmed bilateral CSF leaks to see which method is more effective at sealing the leak.
