New hope for treating dangerous parasite in malnourished kids

NCT ID NCT06600711

Summary

This study aims to see if a 3-day course of the drug nitazoxanide can effectively treat Cryptosporidium infections in malnourished children aged 6-12 months in Bangladesh. Researchers will compare the drug to a placebo to measure if it reduces diarrhea days and helps clear the parasite from the body faster. The trial will also track children's growth and health over six months following treatment.
