Freezing the nerve: can ice stop root canal pain?

NCT ID NCT07264829

Summary

This study aims to see if applying cold therapy inside a tooth during a root canal procedure helps reduce pain patients feel while the inflamed nerve is being removed. Researchers will compare two cold methods—a special dental cold spray and ice sticks—against the standard procedure in 90 adults with severely painful, infected teeth. The main goal is to find a simple way to make this common dental treatment more comfortable.
