NCT ID NCT06304259

First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tested two types of cold therapy (cryotherapy) to see if they reduce pain after root canal treatment in people with an inflamed tooth nerve. 45 adults with a lower premolar tooth that had a live nerve and caused sharp, lasting pain were randomly assigned to get either a cold saline injection near the tooth, a cold rinse inside the tooth, or standard care. Pain levels were measured at 12, 24, and 48 hours after treatment. The goal was to find a simple way to make recovery more comfortable.
