First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tests a new freezing balloon device to treat people with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat) that doesn't get better with medication. About 128 participants will have a procedure to freeze the heart veins that trigger the condition. Researchers will check for safety and whether the heartbeat stays normal for up to a year after treatment.
