Dental showdown: which Gum-Sparing cavity fix works best?
NCT ID NCT07380126
First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study compares two ways to fix deep cavities in back teeth that are close to the bone. One method reshapes the gum and bone (crown lengthening), the other builds up the tooth from within (deep margin elevation). Researchers will check gum health and measure a marker of inflammation in the fluid around the tooth. The study involves 20 adults aged 20-50 with healthy gums.
