Can a short tooth be saved? study looks at survival rates after special dental surgery
NCT ID NCT07259187
Summary
This study looked back at dental records to see how well teeth survive and what problems occur after a two-step dental procedure. The procedure involves first performing 'crown lengthening' surgery to expose more of a damaged tooth, then placing a protective cap (crown) over it. Researchers analyzed data from 81 patients to help dentists make better treatment decisions for teeth with limited healthy structure.
