Surgical showdown: two techniques battle to keep Crohn's disease at bay

NCT ID NCT07164209

Summary

This study compared two different surgical approaches for people with Crohn's disease who needed part of their intestine removed. Researchers wanted to see whether removing the fatty tissue attached to the intestine (the mesentery) or using a special stitching method called Kono-S was better at preventing the disease from returning. The trial involved 73 adults with primary Crohn's disease who were not candidates for medication or had complications requiring surgery.
