Could a common supplement ease a rare disease?

NCT ID NCT06495567

Summary

This study is testing if taking creatine supplements might help lower levels of a harmful substance called homocysteine in the body. Researchers are studying 9 healthy adult men to see how creatine affects their metabolism before testing it in people with homocystinuria, a rare genetic disorder. The goal is to find a simpler, more pleasant alternative to the current strict low-protein diet treatment.
