Extended CPAP may prevent lung damage in preemies
NCT ID NCT07417111
First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tests whether keeping very preterm babies on CPAP (a breathing machine) for a longer time, instead of switching to a nasal tube, can lower their risk of a serious lung condition called bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) or death. About 860 babies born before 29 weeks will take part. The goal is to see if extended CPAP support helps protect their lungs.
