This study tested whether a new vaccine called S-268019 could prevent COVID-19. Nearly 10,000 people who hadn't previously had COVID-19 received either the vaccine or a placebo shot. Researchers measured how many vaccinated people developed COVID-19 symptoms compared to those who got the placebo.
