Do cough meds really work? new study aims to find out
NCT ID NCT07582549
First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether common treatments—antibiotics for wet coughs and inhaled steroids for dry coughs—help children whose cough lasts more than four weeks. About 100 generally healthy children will receive either the active medicine or a placebo for up to two months. The goal is to see if these treatments actually stop or greatly reduce the cough, so doctors can avoid giving unnecessary medication.
