Weight loss surgery side effect mystery: could a stress hormone be the culprit?

NCT ID NCT06896682

Summary

This study aims to understand why some people develop dangerously low blood sugar after weight loss surgery. Researchers will observe 100 people who have had this surgery to see if changes in the body's main stress hormone, cortisol, are involved. They will measure cortisol levels during special tests and while participants monitor their blood sugar at home.
