Summary
This study aimed to create the first nationwide registry in the United States to track long-term results of corneal transplants and related eye diseases. Researchers collected information from patients and their eye scans to build a large database. The goal is to use this data to identify factors for successful transplants and develop artificial intelligence (AI) tools to help diagnose and predict outcomes for corneal conditions.
