Scientists test core workout intensity to stop senior falls

NCT ID NCT07315321

Summary

This study aimed to find out if high-intensity or low-intensity core stability exercises are better at improving balance, trunk strength, and mobility in older adults to help prevent falls. Fifty-seven physically active seniors aged 65-80 were randomly assigned to do either a high-intensity or low-intensity core workout program twice a week for six weeks, or to a control group that did not participate in the program. Researchers used smartphone sensors to carefully measure exercise intensity and tracked changes in participants' stability and mobility to see which approach worked best.
