NCT ID NCT07502781
First seen Apr 02, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study compares transfusions using umbilical cord blood versus standard adult donor blood in extremely premature infants (born before 28 weeks). About 176 babies will be randomly assigned to receive either type of blood if they need a transfusion. The goal is to see if cord blood reduces serious complications like lung disease, eye problems, or death.
