Summary
This study measured a protein called preptin in the cord blood of 72 newborns to see if levels differ between babies with low or high birth weight and those born to mothers with diabetes. The goal was to understand if preptin is related to birth weight and newborn health. No treatment was given; the study simply observed and compared these levels.
