Could cord blood cells heal Radiation-Damaged guts?

NCT ID NCT07175207

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether cells collected from donated umbilical cord blood are safe and can help heal the intestines of people who have long-term damage from past radiation therapy for cancer. It will involve 10 adults whose bowel symptoms haven't improved with standard treatments. Researchers will check if the cell therapy reduces internal damage and symptoms like pain and bleeding over a year.
