New hormone blocker may offer safer menopause relief without estrogen risks

NCT ID NCT07254429

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests whether blocking a hormone called LH can improve bone health and reduce menopause symptoms without the risks of estrogen therapy. About 192 postmenopausal women with moderate-to-severe hot flashes will receive either a GnRH analog (which lowers LH), estrogen, testosterone, or a placebo for 8 weeks. The main goal is to see if lowering LH safely improves bone remodeling and quality of life.
