New heart & mind care for COPD flare-ups

Summary
This study is testing whether a new counseling program is practical to run for people with COPD. The program focuses on helping patients manage the emotional distress that often comes after a serious worsening of their lung symptoms. About 20 hospitalized patients will receive ten counseling sessions over three months from a specialized nurse to see if the program is feasible and acceptable.
