Zapping back pain: new study tests which heat treatment works best
NCT ID NCT07309731
Summary
This study is comparing two similar, minimally invasive procedures to see which one better relieves long-term lower back pain caused by worn-out spinal joints (facet joints). It will enroll 100 adults who have had this specific type of back pain for over 3 months and didn't get enough relief from standard treatments like medication or physical therapy. Researchers will measure pain relief after patients receive either a standard 'thermal' radiofrequency treatment or a newer 'cooled' version.
