Can a simple roof coating beat the heat and save lives?
NCT ID NCT06571019
Summary
This study tested if painting roofs with a special reflective coating could help people stay healthier in extreme heat. Researchers in Niue randomly selected some homes to get these 'cool roofs' and used smartwatches to track residents' heart rates, sleep, and physical activity. The goal was to see if this simple home improvement could protect people from heat-related health problems worsened by climate change.
