First seen Mar 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tested whether motivational interviewing (a supportive conversation style) before and after childbirth helps women feel more confident and positive about using contraception. 72 pregnant women were split into two groups: one received the interviews plus standard care, the other only standard care. Researchers measured their attitudes, confidence, and actual use of birth control 12 weeks after giving birth.
