Robot surgeons face off in battle for better baby bowels

NCT ID NCT07343622

Summary

This study aims to find the better surgery for children with the most severe form of Hirschsprung disease, a condition where nerves are missing from the large intestine. It will compare two different robotic or laparoscopic surgical techniques (Duhamel vs. Soave) performed after an initial stoma surgery. The main goal is to see which method leads to better long-term bowel control and fewer serious intestinal infections over two years.
