Doctors test which surgery works best for young patients with severe heartburn

NCT ID NCT07387042

Summary

This study aims to find out which of two common laparoscopic surgeries is safer and more effective at relieving severe acid reflux symptoms in young patients (under 18) with a congenital hiatal hernia. It will also test how useful a camera scope (endoscopy) is before, during, and after surgery to help plan and guide the repair. Forty participants will be randomly assigned to receive either a Nissen or a Hill-Snow surgical repair.
