New Heart-Zapping techniques face off in AFib trial

NCT ID NCT07175727

Summary

This study compared two newer, non-heat-based catheter ablation systems for treating a common heart rhythm disorder called paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AFib). One hundred patients were randomly assigned to receive one of the two approved systems. Researchers tracked how well the procedures worked to control the irregular heartbeat over a year, monitored safety, and checked for any silent effects on the brain.
