C-section scar pregnancy: which treatment is safer?
NCT ID NCT07166627
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study compares two procedures for treating type II cesarean scar pregnancy, a rare condition where a pregnancy implants in a previous C-section scar. 68 women in their first trimester will be randomly assigned to either surgical removal or ultrasound-guided evacuation. The goal is to see which method is safer and more effective, looking at outcomes like bleeding and recurrence.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If this trial succeeds, it could show which procedure is safer and more effective for treating cesarean scar pregnancy, helping doctors choose the best option.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 68 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. Both procedures carry risks like bleeding or recurrence.
