NCT ID NCT02557451

First seen Feb 14, 2026 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looked at 91 people with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) who had sudden bleeding under the retina. It compared two treatments: surgery followed by anti-VEGF injections, or a gas bubble injection followed by anti-VEGF injections. The goal was to see which approach helps patients recover vision and quality of life better. Both treatments aim to control the bleeding and preserve sight, but patients may need ongoing injections.
