First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study compares two surgical methods (Duhamel and Soave) for treating total colonic Hirschsprung disease, a severe birth defect where nerve cells are missing from the colon. About 50 children who already had a first surgery as newborns will be randomly assigned to one of the two procedures. The goal is to see which approach leads to better bowel function and fewer complications like inflammation of the colon.
