Eye surgery tweak aims for sharper sight with fewer distortions
NCT ID NCT07512102
First seen Apr 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests two different methods of centering laser eye surgery (SMILE) in people with nearsightedness and a large angle kappa—a natural offset between the visual axis and pupil center. One method uses a 50% correction, the other 100%. Researchers want to see which approach gives better visual quality, fewer distortions, and clearer vision after surgery. About 100 participants will be followed for 6 months after their procedure.
