Eye surgery study tests better silicone oil removal methods

Summary

This study compares two techniques for removing silicone oil from the eye in people who previously had retinal detachment surgery. About 200 participants will be randomly assigned to have the oil removed using either a special vitrectomy machine or a spring-loaded syringe. The goal is to see which method is safer and more efficient.
