First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding a laser treatment to standard steroid injections works better for reducing raised scars (keloids or hypertrophic scars). Twenty people with scars up to 8 inches wide took part. They received either steroid injections alone or steroid injections plus a long-pulse Nd:YAG or Erbium:YAG laser. The goal was to see which approach improves scar appearance more.
