First seen Mar 08, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study compares a new method using biotin (a vitamin) to the standard radioactive method for tracking red blood cells after transfusion. Twenty healthy adults will receive their own blood cells labeled both ways to see if the biotin method works just as well. The goal is to find a safer, non-radioactive alternative for future blood research.
