New study tests if high-tech heart mapping beats x-ray for AFib treatment
NCT ID NCT07118046
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study compares two methods for treating atrial fibrillation (AFib) using a balloon-based ablation system. About 96 adults with AFib will be randomly assigned to have the procedure guided either by X-ray alone or with additional 3D heart mapping. The goal is to see if the extra mapping leads to better long-term isolation of the veins that trigger AFib.
