Brain monitor vs. computer model: which predicts anesthesia better?

NCT ID NCT07237477

First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested how accurately a computer model predicts anesthesia depth compared to a brain monitor (BIS/Conox) in 70 adults having elective surgery. Participants received propofol either slowly or rapidly, and the model's predictions were checked against the monitor readings for 20 minutes after they lost consciousness. The goal was to improve how anesthesiologists deliver sedation.
