Tiny study probes how plasma filters affect immune cells in rare nerve disease

NCT ID NCT04742374

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looked at two different blood-filtering techniques (single plasma exchange and double filtration plasmapheresis) in 8 people with a rare nerve disorder called CIDP. The goal was to see how each method changes certain immune cells in the blood. The study did not test whether one treatment works better, but aimed to understand how they affect the immune system.
