New test could reduce need for uncomfortable kidney scans in kids

NCT ID NCT07334821

Summary

This study compares two imaging methods to detect vesicoureteral reflux (VUR), where urine flows backward from the bladder toward the kidneys in children. Researchers will test 60 children undergoing urological surgery to see if a newer method called PIC cystography works as well as the standard VCUG test. The goal is to determine if the newer method can accurately identify both mild and severe cases of reflux.
