New plastic bar may save jaw bone in denture patients
NCT ID NCT07323628
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested two types of bars (metal vs. PEEK plastic) that connect a lower denture to two implants in the jaw. The goal was to see which bar makes patients more comfortable and causes less bone loss around the implants. Twenty adults with no lower teeth and poor denture fit took part. Results showed that both bars worked well, but the PEEK bar led to slightly less bone loss and similar or better patient satisfaction.
