NCT ID NCT07348731
First seen Jan 30, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study compares three non-drug methods—a warm foot bath, a pressure device called ShotBlocker, and a vibrating buzzy toy—to see which best helps newborns stay calm during a routine heel prick. Researchers will measure heart rate, breathing, and oxygen levels before, during, and after the procedure in 90 full-term infants. The goal is to find a safe, simple way to reduce pain and stress for babies.
