Pliers vs. bur: which dental tool spares you pain?
NCT ID NCT07259642
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested two ways to remove the small bumps (attachments) used with clear aligners like Invisalign. 32 people who finished treatment had attachments removed from one side of their mouth with special pliers and from the other side with a dental drill. The goal was to see which method caused less pain and took less time. Results can help dentists choose the gentler technique for patients.
