New study tests single surgery vs Two-Step gallstone removal
NCT ID NCT07503964
First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study compares two approaches for people with gallstones in the common bile duct. One group gets a two-step treatment: first, an endoscopy to remove stones, then surgery to take out the gallbladder. The other group gets a single surgery that removes both the gallbladder and the stones at once. The goal is to see which method clears the stones more successfully and leads to a shorter hospital stay.
