New study tests faster vs. slower allergy desensitization in kids
NCT ID NCT06976775
First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study compares two oral immunotherapy (OIT) schedules for children aged 6 to 16 with mild-to-moderate milk or egg allergy. One schedule uses a rapid 'rush' buildup, the other a slower conventional approach. The goal is to see which is safer and more effective at helping children tolerate these foods, while also identifying biomarkers that predict response. The study does not aim to cure the allergy, but to control it through ongoing treatment.
